Methodology

Using data from Spotify, we analysed playlists that contained the phrases “valentine’s day”, “date night”, “romance”, “love”, Heartthrob”, “couple” & “Netflix and chill”. This created a list of 6,583 playlists and with a total of 851,998 tracks. Each group was then given a top 100 score based on the number of times a song appeared in a playlist.

Combining all the top 100 lists together, we created the ultimate playlist, by combining the scores from all songs across the seven lists. Top Artists were then ranked on their total score and number of different songs they had featured in the playlist.
