The latest edition of the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) has seen a spectacular ending, with the Russian poker player Dmitry Yurasov emerging as victor of the High Roller tournament.
The 2017 Asia Championship of Poker was hosted by PokerStars LIVE Macau from October 13th to 29th 2017, with the ACOP 2017 High Roller tournament being scheduled to be held from October 27th to 29th. The HKD 250,000 buy-in event gathered a total of 48 player, including 8 re-entries, who accumulated a total prize pool of HKD 11,289,600.
Dmitry Yurasov, who is known as a regular participant at major live poker events across Europe, has managed to add a ACOP High Roller title to the World Series of Poker bracelet he won over the summer. The Russian’s total live winnings to date amount to $2,546,640, with his best live cash of $775,923 generated at the time he won the 2017 WSOP $10,000 NLHE – 6-Handed Championship and conquered his first WSOP bracelet.
2017 ACOP High Roller Gameplay
Since the beginning of the tournament, Yurasov quickly managed to make his way to the upper end of the leadersboard. After the first day of play, the tournament bubble was burst, and seven players remained to come back for Day 2 of the event.
As mentioned above, seven players returned for Day 2 play, with the game changing its rhythm to quicker or slower pace over the day. At the time when players pushed into Level 18, it was Yurasov who got the chip lead at the final table, with him holding a serious chip advantage to his opponents.
The players got eliminated one by one, until only Dmitry Yurasov and Devan Tang remained around the final table of the tournament. At the beginning of heads-up play, the two players had almost even stakes, with Yurasov holding a slight chip lead and refusing to consider any two-way deal. No arrangement about the levels or the prize was made, and the raising war between the two players begin, only to see a better hand held by Yurasov at the end.
