A few hours ago, the inaugural Triton Super High Roller Series Macau was brought to an end, with Stefan Schillhabel being crowned as a winner, taking home the champion’s title of the 6-Max event as well as a cash prize amounting to HK$5,874,400. Earlier today, the German poker player took down the HK$250,000 6-Max event, defeating his last standing opponent – Canada’s Mike Watson.
The Triton Super High Roller Series took place at the Taipa-based Galaxy Macau Hotel, with its 6-Max event attracting a total player field consisting 87 entries, who accounted for an overall prize pool amounting to HK$20,462,400. Only the top twelve players were granted with a monetary portion of the prize pool. By winning the event, Stefan Schillhabel boosted the number of live tournament titles won in his career so far to five.
So far, the German has won $6,528,393 in live poker tournaments, including the cash prize he received for conquering the Triton Super High Roller Series Macau. The prize he got for his efforts is estimated to about $752,000 and makes it the third-largest cash he won in his career to date. The largest live tournament winning of the player is the one estimated to $2,400,000 which he got for ranking third at the Aria Super High Roller Bowl $300,000 NLHE at the end of May 2017.
Triton Super High Roller Series 6-Max Day 2
As mentioned above, the 6-Max event of the first-ever Triton Super High Roller Series in Macau was held at the Galaxy Macau Hotel, offering a HK$250,000 buy-in and two game days. The series saw some of the most popular poker stars on a global scale come in Macau, with the inaugural Triton Super High Roller Series Macau attracting larger player field than the number of players who attended the previous stops in Manila and Montenegro.
Day 2 of the event saw only 50 out of the 87 entries return to action, with Schillhabel being in the middle of the pack. He remained there for most of the second day of the 6-Max event, or at least until there were formed the final two tables. At the beginning of the final table, the German poker player was fifth out of seven, with the chip lead being held by Dan Smith. Some time later, when there were only five players left in the game, Schillhabel started taking control. In fact, several players, including Schillhabel, Dan Smith and Mike Watson exchanging the chip lead more than once.
After Manig Loeser got eliminated, only two players remained around the final table, with Schillhabel having a 5:1 chip advantage to Watson. The German soon managed to beat his opponent, emerging as he winner of the first-ever Triton Super High Roller Series Macau HK$250,000 6-Max event.
Final Table Results
With Stefan Schillhabel occupying the first place in the ranking, taking home the 6-Max event’s title for HK$5,874,400, it was the Canadian Mike Watson who remained at the runner-up position. He was granted with a monetary prize of HK$4,297,000 for his efforts. The third place was taken by other German player – Manig Loeser – who received a prize pool cash portion estimated to HK$2,660,000.
Dan Smith from the US remained fourth, followed by the Irish poker player Steve O’Dwyer. The sixth position was taken by the American Isaac Haxton, while Yat Wai Cheng from Hong Kong ranked seventh, for a prize of HK$737,000.
