The WPT Maryland Main Event has already seen its official final table set at the Live! Casino after a heated Day 3 gameplay which resulted in the elimination of 23 players. Now, with the final table of six set to kick off tomorrow, it is Tom Reynolds who is on top of the pack, emerging as chip leader.
Day 3 of the Main Event saw a total of 29 players return, with Grigoriy Shvarts on top of the pack as a chip leader. This year’s edition of the WPT Maryland Main Event attracted a total players field of 561 entrants and offered a buy-in of €3,500 buy-in as well as a prize pool of $2,000,000.
At the time when the official final table of the World Poker Tour Maryland Main Event was formed, Reynolds had the biggest stack of 4.395 million in chips. Despite that, poker fans also keep their eyes on one of his major competitors for the champion’s title – Art Papazyan.
Who is Art Papazyan?
As mentioned above, the winner of the Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker Main Event – Art Papazyan – is now seen as one of the players who are most likely to win the WPT Maryland Main Event, conquering a second WPT title so far in 2017.
Papazyan was third in chips, with a stack of 2.92 million in chips, at the time when the official final table was formed. Only a month ago, the player climbed on top of a field of 763 entries to conquer his first WPT title in 2017 by winning the this year’s edition of the WPT Legends of Poker Main Event and take home a massive cash prize estimated to $668,692.
The victory at the WPT Legends of Poker Main Event this year also brought Papazyan his largest cash prize and first WPT cash to date, boosting his lifetime live tournament earnings to $722,029. Currently, he is known to poker lovers as a player who prefers high-stakes cash games.

The victory, however, would not be an easy one for Papazyan, especially considering the fact that Tom Reynolds is aimed at adding a World Poker Tour title to his record, which already includes a WSOP gold bracelet.
Currently, it is Reynolds has total live winnings which are estimated to $323,134, while his biggest live cash generated by him winning the 2017 WSOP $1,000 NLHE Event #37 amounted to $292,880.
Apart from Reynold’s competition, Papazyan would have to face the rivalry of four more players, including Randal Heeb, who currently has 3.97 million in chips, Grigoriy Shvarts, with a chip stack of 2.49 million and Timothy Chang with 2.01 million in chips. Zachary Donovan is at the bottom of the pack, with a chip stack amounting to 1.195 million.
