With October right behind the corner now, all poker fans in the UK and Ireland should be prepared for a lot of entertainment and fun over the month, thanks to the great number of live poker tournaments that are to be held.
Various live poker events, festivals and tournaments offering different rules, buy-ins and prize pools are scheduled to kick off over the upcoming month, so that players with different preferences and bankrolls will be able to find the ones that suit them best.
Here are the upcoming live poker tournaments that are to be held in October 2017.
2017 Genting Poker Series
The Leg 13 of this year’s Genting Poker Series has already been given a start at the Genting Casino Fountainpark, also known as Genting Club Edinburgh. It kicked off on September 25th, to end on Sunday, October 1st, offering a number of events to all poker players in the UK. Apart from £80 NLHE Super Seventy event with a guaranteed prize pool of £6,000 and a £110 NLHE Edinburgh Masters offering a guaranteed prize pool amounting to £10,000, Genting Poker Series Leg 13 Edinburgh is to offer a £440 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event with three starting flights and a guaranteed prize pool estimated to £100,0200.
Also, October will see Leg 14 and 15 of the 2017 Genting Poker Series Mini kick off. Leg 14 of the series is to be held at Genting Club Sheffield from October 9th to 15th, offering a satellite to the Main Event, and of course, the Main Event itself. The latter is to feature a buy-in of £220, three starting flights and a £35,000 guaranteed prize pool. Leg 15 of this year’s edition of the Genting Poker Series Mini features the same structure. It is to be hosted at the Genting Casino Torquay in the period from October 23rd to 29th as part of the GPS Season 2017.
PokerStars Series
A number of PokerStars tournaments are scheduled to kick off in October. The Regency Airport Hotel in Dublin has already hosted the PokerStars Festival Dublin that is to be held from September 25th to October 1st. The series is to offer a variety of events, including a PLO Double Chance, a National High Roller, NLHE Dublin Poker Cup, a NLHE Deep Stack event, and of course the €1,100 NLHE Main Event featuring a €700,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Then, the Hippodrome Casino in London is to become home to the PokerStars Live London Series from October 5th to 8th, offering a £40 buy-in satellite event as well as the £250 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event.
London’s Hippodrome Casino is to see another PokerStars tournament series kick off on October 20th as part of the PSLIVE Season 2017 and PSMEGA Season 1. The £170 buy-in Main Megastack Event is to be held, as well as a £330 Megastack High Roller and a £110 NLHE Cheap & Deep event.
Monthly Special Series
Two events of the Monthly Special Series are to be seen in October. The first one – September Monthly Special 2 – started yesterday, on September 28th and is to be held until October 1st at the Grosvenor G Casino in Luton. It is held with a structure of a two-day event, featuring three starting flights and a £15,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The other Monthly Special event is to kick off on October 21st at the Grosvenor G Casino in Reading. The one-day event is to offer a buy-in estimated to £110 and a guaranteed prize pool of £10,000.
Dusk Till Dawn Series
October will also see two Dusk Till Dawn Series events to be held. First, the Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham is to host the DTD 100 series from September 29th to October 1st. The No-Limit Hold’em event is to offer a £110 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of £50,000.
Then, from October 5th to October 8th, the casino is to become home to the DTD 1000 Series, which will offer a £1,100 No-Limit Hold’em event with a massive £100,000 guaranteed prize pool, which is to be held in two gaming days with two starting flights.
Grosvenor 25/25 Series
This October will see a total of six events of the Grosvenor 25/25 Series. All of them will feature buy-ins of £220, as well as the traditional guaranteed prize pools of £25,000.
The first two events will be held from October 5th to 8th at the Grosvenor G Casino in Coventry and the Grosvenor Casino Riverside in Salford, respectively. Then, two more Grosvenor 25/25 Series events are to be held between October 19th and 22nd, with the first one of them set to kick off at the Grosvenor Huddersfield Casino in Huddersfield. The other one is to be held at the Grosvenor Casino in Bournemouth. The last two events are scheduled to be held at the end of October, from 26th to 29th at the Grosvenor G Casino in Newcastle and the Grosvenor G Casino in Reading, respectively.
Grosvenor UK Poker Tour
One of the most-loved live poker series held in the UK – the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour is to see Leg 8 kick off on October. The series’ Leg 8 is to be hosted at the Grosvenor Casino in Luton as part of the GUKPT Season 11 from October 8th to 15th, offering a Mini Main Event with a £20,000 guaranteed prize pool, a number of No-Limit Hold’em events with different buy-ins, a Pot-Limit Omaha 4/5/6, etc.
Of course, the Main Event is traditionally the most-expected one, with two starting flights and two other game days. Players who would like to join the Main Event will be able to do it in return to a buy-in of £1,100 giving each and every one of them the chance to become the winner of the tournament and take home the lion’s share of the £200,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Other UK-Based Live Poker Events
The UK will also see a number of other live poker tournaments start in October 2017. Today, the Amateur Poker Association and Tour (APAT) starts at the Grosvenor Casino in Cardiff, where it is to be held until October 1st as part of the APAT Season 11. The series is to offer a NLHE Main Event as well as a Pot-Limit Omaha and Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo.
Poker lovers in the UK will be able to enjoy their favourite game for almost two whole weeks, thanks to the 888Live Festival London which is to kick off on October 4th until October 16th at the Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford in London. A great number of satellites to the festival’s opening event and main event are to be featured, as well as various events featuring different buy-ins and guaranteed prize pools. The Main Event of the festival – a three-day £1,100 buy-in event offering a massive guaranteed prize pool of £400,000 is to kick off on October 12th.
Last but not least, the UK will offer local poker fans to become part of the Unibet UK Poker Tour 2017. The tournament is to be hosted at Brighton’s Rendezvous Casino from October 27th to October 29th, offering two starting flights with a £220 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of £40,000.
Other Ireland-Based Live Poker Events
Ireland will also see a number of other events kick off in October. First, it will be The One Day Special Event, which is scheduled to be held at Dublin’s Green Isle Hotel on October 7th.
The Amateur Poker Association and Tour (APAT) will also see an event of its Irish Amateur Poker Championship be held in October. The Championship is to take place at the Regency Airport Hotel in Dublin on October 29th and 30th as part of the APAT Season 11.
