The game of poker, and more specifically live poker tournaments, have always been associated with glamorous atmosphere, high stakes and of course, massive cash prizes. Most of 2017 is already behind our backs, with hundreds of live poker tournaments and events being held and massive amount of cash prizes being distributed on a global scale.
And still, who have been the UK’s most profitable poker players over the first eight and half months of the current year? You can check below:
John Hesp
Beyond any doubt, John Hesp has been the most profitable UK poker players so far in 2017. So far this year, he has managed to generate over £1,920,100 climbing on top of the list of the most profitable UK poker players.
Only a couple of months ago, Hesp generated his largest live poker winning by ranking fourth at the 2017 WSOP $10,000 NLHE – Main Event Championship, taking home a prize of $2,600,000 which is also his largest live poker cash so far. Apart from that, Hesp has taken part in six NLHE Sunday Rebuy events of the 2017 Napoleons Casino and Restaurant Hull Recurring Tournaments, which brought him overall winnings of 1,575.
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick is second in the most profitable UK players ranking for the time being. He is not far behind from Hesp, with a total of £1,912,083 generated so far in 2017. These live cashes helped him boost his total live earnings increase to more than £6,719,167.
The largest live poker winning which Chidwick managed to generate in 2017 is the one of €690,400, which he won by ranking first at the PokerStars Championship Barcelona €25,500 NLHE – 8 Handed Event #24. This is also the largest live cash generated by the player in his career.
Charlie Carrel
The British poker pro Charlie Carrel, who is one of the most popular contemporary UK poker players up to date, is the third in our ranking. So far in 2017, his winnings amount to more than £1,550,916, with over £880,218 alone as a single cash generated when he ranked second at the PokerStars Championship Bahamas $100,000 NLHE – PokerStars Championship Super High Roller Event #1. This is also the largest live cash won by Carrel for the eight and a half months of 2017 that are already behind our backs.
Carrel is also one of the most profitable young players known on the international live poker tournaments arena. His total live earnings up to date are estimated to $,919,338, with a best live cash amounting to $1,241,682 generated when he took down the EPT-11-FPS-5-Grand Final €25,500 NLHE High Roller 8 Handed Event #61 in Monte Carlo in 2015.
Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair is currently fourth in the UK’s most profitable poker players so far in 2017. With more than half of the year already behind our backs, Sinclair has managed to win over £1,154,712 until the middle of September 2017.
Considering the fact that Jack Sinclair is also relatively new to the live poker tournaments arena, this is also the amount he has managed to generate in his career so far, too. His biggest live cash estimated to $1,200,000 was granted to him for his eighth-place ranking at the 2017 WSOP €10,000 NLHE – Main Event Championship Event #73 in Las Vegas in July.
Elior Benjamin Sion
Most of 2017 has already in the past now, and the British poker player Elior Benjamin Sion has already found his place among the most profitable UK poker players so far in 2017. This year, he has generated only one live cash, but it seems to be just enough to push him at the fifth position of our ranking.
The only cash prize won by Sion so far in 2017 was generated at the beginning of July, when he ranked first at the 2017 WSOP $50,000 Poker Players Championship – 6 Handed Event #62. The amount won is estimated to $1,395,767.
