The unofficial final table of the PokerStars Championship Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller has finally been reached at the end of the event’s Day 2, with some of the biggest names in contemporary poker industry getting to the last nine standing opponents.
The PokerStars Championship Barcelona kicked off on August 15th at Casino Barcelona. The event, $50,000 Super High Roller Event, which managed to gather a total of 86 entries, started on August 19th and is set to be brought to an end tonight. The players who entered the event contributed to a prize pool of €4,129,290 to be accumulated.
For the time being, two of the brightest stars of the PokerStars Team Pro – Daniel Negreanu and Igor Kurganov – proceeding to Day 3. Both of them have managed to become part of the final nine after two days of play, and now everyone has their eyes on the two of them, as they are believed to be among the players who are most likely to be crowned as a winner of the €50,000 Super High Roller.
The fact that he has never won an event offering a €50,000 buy-in or more, despite taking part in such events on a regular basis, is expected to additionally encourage Daniel Negreanu on his way to winning the event. Negreanu, whose best live cash of $8,288,001 was generated in the 2014 WSOP $1,000,000 NLHE – The Big One for One Drop, has total live winnings amounting to the breathtaking $34,093,588. However, the fact that he still does not own a title from a High Roller tournament featuring a buy-in of €50,000 would probably make him crave the title of the PokerStars Championship Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller even harder.
As mentioned above, PokerStars also has another member of its Team Pro to put its hopes on. After falling almost at the bottom of the starting stack, Igor Kurganov managed to grab the opportunity which a good hand gave to him and has finished Day 2 of the event second in chips.
After Mikhail Rudoy got eliminated by becoming the bubble boy, it became clear who the nine remaining players of the unofficial final table will be, with Koray Aldemir currently on top of the list, with 4,540,000 in chips. He is currently followed by PokerStars’ Team Pro member Igor Kurganov with 4,170,000 in chips. Christopher Kruk is third, holding 3,610,000 in chips.
Then, it is Bartlomiej Machon who has managed to reach the unofficial final table of the tournament, with the position of 2,625,000 in chips. He is followed by Stanley Choi with 2,055,000 in chips. For the time being, Dietrich Fast is sixth with 1,190,000 in chips, while probably one of the most famous members of the PokerStars Team Pro team – Daniel Negreanu – being seventh, holding 1,170,000 in chips. The last two positions at the unofficial final table ranking are occupied by Ivan Luca, with 760,000 and Bryn Kenney with 740,000 in chips.
