Chicago-born Connor Drinan managed to keep his sixth position in the Global Poker Index (GPI) Ranking for a second consecutive week. He has previously climbed as high as the fifth position at the GPI, which is his best achievement there so far.
The young American player’s best cash winning in a live tournaments amounts to 3,225,000, while his all-time winnings are estimated to $10,132,441.
This year, Connor Drinan has taken part in several poker events and tournaments. The latest poker event he participated in was the EPT-13-ESPT-7-Barcelona’s €10,300 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em High Roller 8-Handed event that took place from August 26th to August 28th. He managed to win it, emerging victorious from a total of 472 entries, taking home a prize of €849,200.
The poker pro also participated in two more events of the series – the €5,300 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em – EPT Main Event in the period August 22nd-28th, as well as in the €50,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Super High Roller 8-Handed from August 20th to August 22nd. The overall winnings from this year’s EPT-13-ESPT-7-Barcelona tournament generated by Drinan amount to €867,920.
The American also entered the World Poker Tour (WPT) Choctaw competition, which kicked off in the US. He ranked at the 17th position out of 1,066 players in the $3,700 No Limit Hold’em WPT Championship Event that took place from July 29th to August 2nd. Drinan won $35,572 and 286.59 GPI points.
Earlier in July – in the period from 14th to 18th – he participated in the Bellagio Cup XII competition and managed to reach 4th rank, generating winnings of $198,869 in the $10,400 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em event.
Of course, Connor Drinan also entered the 47th edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio Hotel and Casino. His best ranking there was the 126th place he occupied out of a total of 863 players in the $1,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Tag Team Event from July 6th to July 8th. It was a paradox that the player generated his lowest payout in this very event, taking home only $750.
In addition, he took part in two other events of the WSOP Series. He first entered the $1,500 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Monster Stack (No Re-Entry) that kicked off on June 24th and ended on June 28th. Then, Drinan participated in the $1,111 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Little One for One Drop from July 12th to July 16th, ranking 305th out of 4,360 participants. At the beginning of June, the American entered the $565 Buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha event of the 2016 WSOP Series.
Earlier this year, Connor Drinan also entered the Goliath Phamous Poker Series, WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star, 2016 WPT L.A Poker Classic and the latest edition of the PCA tournament. The 2016 Aussie Millions Poker Championship was quite successful for him. He entered two events, ranking on fourth and third position, respectively.
