Christopher Fisher managed to emerge victorious from the 2016/17 WSOP Circuit $580 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Event #4, which was held at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina. Fisher beat the other 276 participants in the event and won his first WSOP Circuit Ring at the first-place prize.
As mentioned above, the event attracted a total of 277 players who gathered a prize pool estimated to $138,500. Day 2 started with 22 players and lasted for more than ten hours, eventually playing down to a winner. The recreational poker player Christopher Fisher became the winner, and was awarded with a top prize of $33,242 as well as with his first WSOP Circuit ring.
Fisher is an occasional poker player now, considering the fact he works as a full-time Finance Manager at Ben Mynatt Buick GMC. He planned to participate only in this event at Harrah’s Cherokee in the weekend. In the past, he used to play poker more frequently, but to date he is able to play between two and three times on a monthly basis.
What is interesting, is that he was not sure whether to play in the event at all, or not. He even confessed he tried to talk himself out of playing, because he had not felt good enough. He also said the Cherokee was the only place he was down, especially considering he had been down $7,000 to $8,000 in previous occasions. Fisher also explained that he had hoped to go back there and generate good winnings to get some of his money back, though.
As a matter of fact, Fisher shared that he credits his win primarily to the fact that he had a solid play without making a lot of mistakes. He also confessed that he mostly plays for fun, unlike some other players who take the game of poker quite seriously.
Over the time of his gaming experience at the final table, the player had several friends and supporters to cheer him up. Some of them were present of the time of the game, and others sent him messages to encourage him. The player thanked all of them for supporting him when he needed them the most.
Considering his full-time job, it would be hard for Fisher to take part in another event over the 2016/17 WSOP Circuit. He revealed that he would try to make some time in case there was another on-day event.
