Additionally, he held a position at the UK Faculty of Public Health in the Policy and External Affairs department for more than seven years. Among his achievements were several eminent legal modifications and policy undertakings.

In his new role as Deputy CEO of GamCare, Mark Weiss will enter into close collaboration with Margot Daly, Executive Chair of the organisation. As GamCare noted, he will “act as ambassador”, helping to boost the image of the charity and all people who reach out for help.
Mr Weiss commented on his new role, highlighting the substantial impact of the organisation’s services in terms of prevention and treatment of gambling harms. He also said he looked forward to cooperating with third-sector partners, the NHS, GambleAware, and the Government. This collaboration would bring about the proper implementation of “the next chapter of gambling support in Britain”.

As CasinoGuardian reported last month, GamCare revealed that the National Gambling Helpline received 52,370 calls and online chats in 2023, representing a 24% increase compared to 2022. December 2023 was the busiest month recorded ever, with a 39% increase in communications compared to the same month of the previous year. With the new CEO’s wealth of experience in health policy and communications, GamCare would achieve substantial success in providing a safer gambling environment and professional support to problem gamblers.
