As Casino Guardian reported earlier, the 15th edition of the World Poker Tour (WPT) $10,400 Buy-in Main Event of the Five Diamonds World Poker Classic has gathered a massive players field of 791 entries. The event offers a guaranteed prize pool amounting to $7.673 million and the competition to win the enormous first-place prize of $1.938 million.
Now, the Main Event of the tournament heads to Day 4, after Day 3 was filled with fierce competition, fast-paced game and a lot of drama. Not only did the money bubble burst, but the massive players field was reduced to 19 participants only.
A total of 75 players returned to action from the 791 initial entrants, and Keith Lehr was the first who got eliminated, followed by Mike “The Mouth” Matusow. Jerry Wong became “the bubble boy” and cleared the way to the money prizes for the remaining 72 players.
Everything at Day 3 was quickly changing, so that Ryan Hughes who got to the Day 2 of the competition as a chip leader no longer occupies this position, conceding the first place to Ryan Tosoc. The latter – a Chicago-based poker player – is currently making his first cash out of a World Poker Tour (WPT) event. Tosoc has managed to rank first among the 19 players left with 3.492 million in chips, most of which were won in an outstanding battle against Christian Christner, in which Tosoc got aces versus kings.
Ryan Tosoc commented on his performance over the Day 3 of the Five Diamonds World Poker Classic $10,400 Buy-in Main Event, saying he had been really happy at the time he vanquished Christner. However, he said he did not feel safe until the hand had been played to the end.
Tosoc has been relatively new to the poker arena. This year he has become part from a number of international poker tournaments. At the end of November, the player finished as a runner-up in the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic $1,090 No Limit Hold’em event, taking home a cash portion of $32,126.
Earlier in 2016, Tosoc entered the 47th Edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), as well as in the WSOP Circuit, and at the beginning of October he participated in the 2016 edition of Wynn Fall Classic.
