The second day of the WSOP Circuit Main Event at the Harrah’s Atlantic City stop has been brought to an end a few hours ago after ten levels of play. At the end of the day, it is Renata Colache who is heading into Day 3 of the Main Event on top of the remaining nine players, holding 2,015,000 into chips.
She is the only player who managed to build a stack above the 2-million mark.
The $1,700 Main Event, which will see its final day kick off after a few hours, gathered a total of 357 entries, with the overall prize pool yet to be determined. Now, there are only 9 players left, who are to proceed to the final stage of the game at the iconic Harrah’s Atlantic City. The winner is to be granted the lion’s share of the prize pool, a Circuit gold ring, as well as a guaranteed free seat into the season-ending 2019 Global Casino Championship.
As mentioned above, Renata Colache is proceeding to Day 3 as chip leader, being the only lady among the last nine players who have made it to the final day of the event. She is followed by Kurt Lichtman, who currently holds a chip stack of 1,490,000. Daniel Park is third, with 1,425,000 in chips. Rick Hanheide is in the bottom of the pack, with a chip stack of 467,000.
Final Day Play to Start at Noon on March 18th
The bubble burst almost right away after the start of Level 19. There were also a number of notable poker players who were not lucky enough to get to the third day of the competition, such as the six-time gold ring winner Roland Israelashvili and Joe McKeehen, who is a 2015 WSOP Main Event winner.
Some of the other popular players who did not make it to the final day of the $1,700 Main Event were Hamid Izadi, Matt Brady and Aaron Mermelstein.
The game saw its unofficial final table formed right before the final level of the day after defending champion Soheb Porbandarwala got eliminated by Kurt Litchman. Only nine players are now heading to the final day of the Main Event at the Harrah’s Atlantic City stop. Six of them are to start with a chip stack of more than 1,000,000, and only the chip leader Renata Colache is to hold more than 2,000,000 in chips at the beginning of the final day.
The action is set to start at noon on March 18th. Each of the last nine survivors is guaranteed a prize pool cash portion of at least $11,693 of the $400,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The ongoing WSOP Circuit series’ stop is being hosted at the Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City since March 7th and is approaching to its end apart from the $1,700 Main Event, there are only two events which are set to be completed by the end of the stop.
