Trishal Nanji emerged victorious from the 2016 Genting Poker Series Westcliff Mini taking home the event’s trophy as well as a cash prize of £6,940 after reaching a six-way deal with the other top five players at the final table.
Trisal Nanji managed to win the £220 Buy-in Genting Poker Series Westcliff Mini defeating 271 other participants. The 272 entrants who started the competition were quickly reduced to 71 over the three starting flights. Only the top 27 players were granted with cash prizes.
As unfortunate for him as it may be, Geoff Dartford got on the 28th position, remaining 27 players to be granted with a cash prize from the competition. The minimum cash portion given amounted to £410. Several hours later, the final table was formed with a total of nine players left.
At this time of the game, Van Nguyen and Nick Zambas were the chip leaders with chip stacks of 1,500,000 and 1,445,000 respectively. Mark Webb was the player who got the smallest stack of 380,000.
The first one to go bust at the final table was Shane Dewsbury, followed by Amber Glasby on the eighth position. Surprisingly, the two of them were soon followed by Nguyen who was the chip leader until recently. With only six players left at the final table, the participants paused the game for a while in order to negotiate an eventual deal. The players reached a deal, in which the least cash portion was estimated to £4,000. No further prize was granted to Lee Holdis who lost to Zambas, which pushed the players to make another deal, in which the minimum pay-off amounted to £6,000.
With Trishal Nandji on the first position with a prize of £6,940, the runner-up position was occupied by Michael Arnold, who got a cash portion of £7,000. The player who took the third position – Mark Webb – was granted with the same prize as Arnold, and Nick Zambas who occupied the fourth position got £6,000.
The fifth place was taken by Nick Kennedy, who got himself a prize of £6,500. Lee Hodis got 6th, getting out of the six-handed deal with a prize of £4,000. The seventh position was taken by Van Nguyen, followed by Amber Glasby and Shane Dewsbury who got on eighth and ninth positions, respectively.
