With October just around the corner now, it is high time we think about the live poker tournaments the new month is set to bring us. All poker lovers in the UK and Ireland will be able to join a great variety of events in order to test not only their knowledge of the game but their luck and skills at the same time, too.
October brings us a number of much loved live poker tournaments across the UK and Ireland. Players will be able to choose from a variety of buy-ins to match their payroll best, and the tournaments will also offer great excitement, excellent atmosphere and of course, different prize pools.
Here are the live poker festivals, tournaments and events set to kick off in October 2018:
partypoker MILLIONS Dusk Till Dawn
This is the second season of partypoker LIVE (PPL), with the brand’s MILLIONS Dusk Till Dawn tournament set to be held between September 29th and October 7th. Live gameplay will be hosted at the Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham, with a great variety of events included in the tournament’s schedule.
The £1,100 NLHE Millions UK Open is the first event in the festival’s schedule. It is to offer a guaranteed prize pool of £1,000,000, five starting flights and two more gaming days. The £5,300 Main Event is set to offer a massive guaranteed prize pool of £5,000,000. There will be three starting flights to the Main Event, followed by four gaming days.
Other live poker events which are expected to be held as part of the festival are the £25,500 High Roller event, a £550 NLHE Millions UK and a £10,300 NLHE High Roller event.
2018 Genting Poker Series Main and Mini
Then, on October 2nd, Leg 14 of the 2018 Genting Poker Series Main will start. The tournament will take place in Edinburgh, at the Genting Casino Fountainpark by October 7th.
A number of events will be included in the tournament’s schedule, starting with a satellite to the Main Event. Then, on October 3rd, an NLHE Super Seventy event with a buy-in of £80 and a guaranteed prize pool of £6,000 will kick off, followed by three starting flights of the £440 Main Event. Apart from the three day 1s, there will be two more gaming days of the Main Event, as well as a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000. Last but not least, a £110 NLHE Masters event with a £10,000 guaranteed prize pool will also be held as part of the series.
Leg 15 of this year’s edition of the Genting Poker Series Mini will also take place in October. The first starting flight to the Main Event will kick off on October 11th at Genting Club Sheffield, with the casino set to host the tournament until October 14th. The guaranteed prize pool amounts to £35,000.
Grosvenor 25/25 and GUKPT Series
One event from the Grosvenor 25/25 Series is set to be held in October. The Coventry-based Grosvenor G Casino will host the two-day event from October 4th to 7th, with Day 1A set to be held online at Grosvenor Poker, and three more starting flights scheduled to follow. The guaranteed prize pool offered to players amounts to £25,000.
In addition, Leg 7 of the 2018 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) is set to be held from October 7th to 14th, at the Grosvenor G Casino in Luton. First, a Mini Main event with a guaranteed prize pool of £20,000 will kick off, followed by a £57 No Limit Hold’em Turbo event. Right before the long-expected Main Event of the series, a £165 NLHE Bounty event and a £NLHE event will be held.
The £1,110 Main Event will offer two starting flights with unlimited re-entry option, two more gaming days and a £200,000 guaranteed prize pool. As part of Leg 7 of this year’s edition of the GUKPT series, a £165 Omaha 4/5/6 event will be held, followed by a £110 NLHE Turbo Bounty and a £110 No Limit Hold’em event.
Other Live Poker Events in the UK and Ireland
From October 18th to 21st, the widely popular Poker Room in London will host The London Deepstack. The two-day event includes three Day 1s featuring a buy-in of £170.
Lastly, at the very end of October, the Irish Amateur Poker Championship will be held at Bonnington Dublin. The Championship will kick off on October 28th as part of the APAT Season 12 as a two-day event.
