WSOP Final Table Ranking
The young Bulgarian player had to face four former WSOP bracelet winners, with him and Antonio Barbato, who eventually got on the second place, being the only players who did not own a WSOP bracelet at the Event 17’s final table. Despite being the only non-bracelet winners, it was exactly the two of them who were left for the final heads-up clash.
The final table started with the four bracelet winners present, accompanied by Dimov and Barbato. At that time, it was Joey Weissman who got the chip lead. China’s Yue Du got the first one to leave. It took three hours to the five remaining players to eliminate another one, with the early chip-leader Weissman being the next to leave. Then, two other WSOP bracelet winners left, to leave the two “outsiders” fight for the first place.
It did not take long for Ognyan Dimov to overcome the competition of the short-stacked Barbato. A several hands after the heads-up play started, Dimov was crowned as the event’s winner, taking hold of his first gold bracelet.
With Ognyan Dimov emerging at the first place of the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed event winning a prize pool portion of $378,743, it was Antonio Barbato, who got the runner-up position, getting a monetary prize of $233,992.
