The Triton Poker Super High Roller, which was held as part of this year’s partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Russia festival, was brought to an end, with Seng Yee Leow AKA Ivan Leow scoring another great victory, as he became the event’s champion and took home the lion’s share of the massive prize pool. This was the second high roller tournament which was held at the Sochi Casino and Resort as part of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Russia series.
Day 1 of the Super High Roller event saw only 14 entries, but that number was more than doubled over the first three levels of Day 2. The total player field consisted of 29 entries, of whom 20 were unique players, and the other 9 were re-entries.
In the end, it was the Malaysian poker player Seng Yee Leow AKA Ivan Leow who was crowned as the event’s champion and took home a monetary prize of $1,133,500 after defeating Abraham Passet in a heads-up clash.
This is the second High Roller event of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Russia festival Leow took part in. The previous evening saw him take part in the RUB3,000,000 High Roller event, but unfortunately, he ended up being the bubble boy only an hour after he got the chip lead. The RUB$6,000,000 Super High Roller Day 2 started in a similar fashion for Leow, only this time he managed to pull it off to the end, emerging as the eventual winner.
The victory brought the 36-year-old player from Malaysia his best live cash so far, boosting his total live earnings to $3,610,190. So far, 2018 has been pretty successful for Leow, as he already has five six-figure scores, not to mention the fact that he finished first in the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju HK$500,000 Short Deck Ante-Only event.
Triton Super High Roller Final Day
The final day of the partypoker Triton Poker Super High roller saw registrations remain open for the first three levels, and as mentioned above, the number of entries more than doubled at the time. Some of the most notable players who took part in the competition were Koray Aldemir, Phil Ivey, Timofey Kuznetsov, Philipp Gruissem, etc.
The first one to leave the final table of the event was Wai Kin Yong, and soon after that, the bubble was reached, with Dietrich Fast becoming the bubble boy. Leow managed to remain on top of the pack, but keeping the chip lead throughout the entire day was not possible. He and Abraham Passet exchanged the chip lead, with Leow finally establishing a massive lead, until finally emerging victorious from the Super High Roller Event.
The combined prize only for the top four spots in the ranking amounted to more than $2.6 million. With Ivan Leow emerging as the Triton Poker Super High Roller Event, taking home a prize pool portion of almost $1,134,000, his last standing opponent – the German Abraham Passet – occupied the runner-up position. He received a prize of $740,880 for his efforts.
Another Malaysian player – Wai Leong Chan – ranked third, with him scooping a $472,500 prize pool portion, while the German Manig Loeser remained fourth, receiving $283,500 in prize money.
