As far as live poker tournaments are concerned, May 2018 is set to offer a lot of excitement, as the schedule for such events in the UK and Ireland is literally crammed.
A great variety of events is to be held over the upcoming month, with them offering various buy-ins and guaranteed prize pools which are to meet the expectations of all kinds of players. You can check the upcoming live poker events and festivals’ schedule below:
Grosvenor 25/25 Series
The first live poker tournament that is set to kick off in May 2018, is the Grosvenor 25/25 Series. As a matter of fact, a total of seven editions of the series are to be held in May, with the first one of the, to be hosted by The Poker Room in London from May 3rd to 6th.
All seven events will be held in a No-Limit Hold’em format, offering several starting flights and a buy-in of £225. The events from the Grosvenor 25/25 Series that are to be held in May, will also feature a guaranteed prize pool of £25,000.
The next two events are to be held in the period from May 10th to 13th at the Grosvenor Casino in Bournemouth and at the Grosvenor Casino Westgate in Leeds. Then, other two events are to take place from May 17th to 20th, with them hosted at Birmingham’s and Liverpool’s Grosvenor Casino venues. Then, the Poker Room in London is to become home to another event of the series from May 24th to 27th, followed by Grosvenor Portsmouth Gunwharf, which is to host the last, seventh event from May 31st to June 3rd.
2018 Genting Poker Series
Both Genting Poker Series Main and Mini are to be held in May. First it is to be Leg 8 of this year’s Genting Poker Series Main to kick off, with a number events set to be held at the Genting Resorts World Birmingham Genting Casino from May 8th to 13th.
Apart from a satellite event, the series will see an £80 NLHE Super Seventy event offering a guaranteed prize pool of £6,000 as well as a £110 NLHE Masters event, offering a £10,000 guaranteed prize. The three-day Main Event is to offer three starting flights and a £440 buy-in, with a guaranteed prize pool estimated to £100,000 set to be shared between the players who finish in the money.
In addition, Leg 10 of the 2018 Genting Poker Series Mini is to be held from May 31st to June 3rd. The Event is to be hosted at the Genting Casino Glasgow, offering a two-day £220 buy-in event with three starting flights and a guaranteed prize pool estimated to £35,000.
partypoker Series
In May, the second season of partypoker Live is to see two events kick off, including the Fitzwilliam Poker Masters and the Grand Prix Mini Dublin.
First, the period from May 4th to 7th will see the Fitzwilliam Card Club in Dublin host the Fitzwilliam Poker Masters – a three-day event with two starting flights, in which players would be able to enter in return to a buy-in of €375. The guaranteed prize pool of the event amounts to €50,000.
Then, the Green Isle Hotel in Dublin is to become home to the partypoker Grand Prix Mini Dublin from May 24th to 27th. The €120 buy-in event is to be held in two game days, offering four starting flights and a massive guaranteed prize pool estimated to €100,000.
Other Live Poker Events in May 2018
A range of other live poker events is also set to be held in May. First, the Rainbow Casino in Bristol is to host the Rainbow Super Cup from May 4th to 7th. The event, which can be joined at the price of £110, is to see three starting flights and a final day, with a guaranteed prize pool of £15,000 to be distributed between everyone who finishes in the money.
The one-day Bank Holiday Monday is next. The event is set to kick off at the Empire Casino in London on May 7th. The gambling venue is to host another Bank Holiday Monday on May 28th 2018.
Then, the period from May 11th to 13th will see London’s Hippodrome Casino host the PokerStars Live London Series. The Main Event will have a two-day structure, with four starting flights and buy-in of £275, as well as with a guaranteed prize pool of £40,000. The Series is also set to offer a NLHE Double Chance event.
The Poker Room in London is to host the Monthly 1K Special on May 14th, with everyone who wants to join the one-day event offered the chance to do it through a £1,100 buy-in. The venue, which name has been associated with some of the largest live poker tournaments, is also set to become home to the London Deepstack from May 17th to 20th. The two-day event will offer a buy-in amounting to £170 and three starting flights.
888 Season 2018 will also be represented in May, by 888 The One – a £1,000 NLHE event with a £50,000 guaranteed prize pool – that is to be hosted at London’s Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford.
The Yorkshire VGC Poker Championships 2018 is set to kick off on May 27th at the Victoria Gate Casino in Leeds and is to end on June 2nd. The Championships are to start with a Hybrid Satellite event, followed by four starting flights to the Main Event, which is to offer a £50,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The end of the month is expected to see two other live poker events start on the territory of the UK. First, the Monthly 8-Max is to be held at the Poker Room on May 28th. Then, the same venue is to become home to the Monthly Special on May 31st.
