Final Table Play and Ranking
Despite the fact that Lefrancois held the chip lead twice – the first time at the end of Day 2 and the second time when the final table was formed – it was not an easy game for him. Not only did he overcome a massive player field, but also faced a number of proficient poker players, such as Dominik Nitsche, Stephen Chidwick, Adam Owen, Davidi Kitai, etc.
At the time of the final table, the game was tense, with no players being eliminated over the first two hours of play. It took almost five hours for the first elimination of the fay, which was quickly followed by another casualty hitting the rail. Then after more than an hour and so, there were only four players left, with Dominik Nitche and Stephen Chidwick who previously dominated big stacks being sent to the bottom line. Nitsche got eliminated first, quickly followed by Chidwick.
The heads-up play started with Lefrancois holding the chip lead, by Adam Owen turned the game around, after aggressively entering the fight. However, Lefrancois managed to prevail and turned down the Main Event, emerging as champion. His winning marked the end of Season 1 of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS tournament, with Season 2 set to start only in a few days at Montreal-based Playground Poker Club.
With Pascal Lefrancois emerging as the Main Event’s winner, Adam Owen occupied the runner-up position. Stephen Chidwick remained third, followed by Dominik Nitsche on the fourth place.
The fifth position was taken by Jan Eric Schwippert, while Diogo Veiga got sixth. Davidi Kitai remained seventh, and the eighth and ninth place were occupies by Thomas Boivin and Honglin Jiang, respectively.
