The game was aired on PokerGO under the title “Perks of the Trade”, being named after Bill Perkins and promised to make Poker After Dark even bigger than usual. It was a $300/$600 No-Limit Hold’em cash game offering a buy-in of $300,000, which also seen a number of popular names, including Rick Salomon, Brian Rast, Phil Galfond, Aaron Zang and Haralobos Voulgaris.
Salomon Wins the Biggest Pot for the Night
The first gaming session was very hard for Phil Galfond, who was a big winner over the gameplay, but eventually lost his entire winnings, including a pot estimated to a total of $702,400 to Haralabos Voulgaris’ hand of pocket aces. The competition between them two escalated quickly to end up with Voulgaris making the quick call and winning the large pot.
However, that was not all for the night. The action got even more heated, as even a larger pot between Rick Salomon and Aaron Zang seen. The two players faced each other in a clash for the pot which was estimated to a total of $926,200.
The extremely large pot started with Bill Perkins putting in a blind raise and Zang raising once more. Salomon called, followed by Perkins. The amount of the pot quickly increased to an overall of $432,000, after which Salomon called to create the total pot of $926,200. Then, Salomon and Zang agreed to run it twice, and both times it was Salomon who got the total pot of almost $1 million.
As mentioned above, the pot exceeded the one of $702,400 played earlier that night between Voulgaris and Galfond, as well as the massive pot of $697,100 between Tom Dwan and Antonio Esfandiari aired in an earlier Poker After Dawn episode in August 2017. In spite of the fact that he managed to win the largest pot for the night, Salomon was not able to finish the session as the biggest winner of the session, as three other players – Bill Perkins, Brian Rast and Haralobos Voulgaris – took down the largest wins.
Rick Salomon is no stranger to high stakes, especially considering the fact that he had managed to generate two cashes in One Drop events with a buy-in of $1,000,000. The player’s total live earnings to date amount to $6,394,283, with his best live cash for the time being estimated to $3,307,206.
The $300,000 buy-in, $300/$600 No-Limit Hold’em cash game is set to continue today on PokerGO, with Brian Rast and Phil Galfond to be replaced by Matt Berkey and Doug Polk, who are to join Salomon, Zang, Perkins and Volgaris.
