WSOP Circuit Foxwoods Main Event has been just brought to an end, with Jeremy Meacham becoming a World Series of Poker Circuit champion after emerging on the first position in the ranking. The player took home not only a traditional WSOP Circuit gold ring, but also the lion’s share of the Main Event’s prize pool, with the portion being estimated to $156,735.
2017/2018 WSOP Circuit Foxwoods was the second stop of the Circuit’s new season. It took place at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, offering a buy-in of $1,675. The Main Event tournament managed to gather a total of 486 entries, with only the first 54 of them making it to the monetary prizes. The player accounted for a total prize pool estimated to $729,000.
The Main Event of the WSOP Circuit Foxwoods’ stop not only brought the largest prizepool portion to the player who emerged as winner, but also granted him with a gold Circuit ring. What is more, Jeremy Meacham got a free entry into the 2017/2018 WSOP Global Casino Championship.
Who is Jeremy Meacham?
Jeremy Meacham is not a newcomer to the World Series of Poker Circuit. As a matter of fact, the 30-year old poker professional from the US has a very special relationship not only with the Foxwoods Casino, but with the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event held here. Over the last three years, Jeremy Meacham not only made it to the cash prizes of the Circuit’s Main Event tournament, but also got to the final tables.
Back in 2015, Meacham reached the sixth position in the ranking, getting a monetary prize of $28,556 for his efforts. Then, a year later, in 2016, he got even further, climbing on the third place of the WSOP Circuit Foxwoods Main Event, taking home a monetary prize of $66,930. Today, Meacham is the event’s champion, scooping the lion’s share of the accumulated prize pool and a WSOP Circuit gold ring.
To date, the young player’s overall live earnings amount to $743,316. At this year’s edition of the WSOP Circuit Foxwoods Main Event he also generated his largest live prize so far – $156,735.
It can be said that Meacham’s victorious march to the first place started at Day 1A of the Main Event, when he ended up as the chip leader, holding 289,000 in chips. He was almost to finish Day 2 of the event as chip leader, too, but Galen Hall got ahead of him.
At the time when he reached the final table, he was second in chips with 1,500,000, right behind Mike Azzaro, who held 2,690,000 at the time. With the players being eliminated one by one, Meacham not only entered the final third, but also got to the heads-up battle. The latter lasted a bit more than two hours, ending up with Meacham emerging as the WSOP Circuit Foxwoods Main Event winner.
Final Table Ranking
With Jeremy Meacham emerging as the victor of the WSOP Circuit Foxwoods Main Event, becoming a gold ring winner and scooping a monetary prize of $156,735, it was Sean Thomson who remained at the runner-up position of the ranking. For his efforts, he received a prize pool cash portion estimated to $96,957. Robert Ricciuti remained third, being granted with a consolation prize that amounted to $70,713.
The fourth place in the ranking was taken by Mike Azzaro for a total of $52,488, followed by Galen Hall who became fifth. Hall got a monetary prize of $39,366 for his position in the ranking. Filippos Stavrakis remained at the sixth place of the final table ranking, taking home $30,035. The seventh position was occupied by Lawrence Greenberg for $23,328, followed by Fabio Dagata, who got a $14,602 prize. The last ninth place was taken by David Mock, who received $11,736 of the overall prize pool.
Other notable players who managed to finish in the money were Cory Waaland, Mike Dentale, Greg Himmelbrand, Dave Stefanski, etc.
