August is just around the corner now, with a great variety of live poker tournaments set to start in the UK and Ireland. The month will see different live poker tournaments, events and festivals start in the region, with them offering various guaranteed prize pools and buy-ins.
Several large tournaments are to start over the upcoming month on the territory of the UK and Ireland, with them providing all kinds of poker players join the events.
The first one of the poker tournaments that are set to kick off in August 2017, this year’s edition of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour – Goliath, has already started. The tournament officially started on July 27th and is to run until August 6th at the Grosvenor G Casino in Coventry. The series is to offer a great number of events featuring various affordable buy-ins in order to suit the needs of different types of players, and of course, its £120 Main Event.
Local poker players are also to witness the start of the APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship on August 3rd at the Grosvenor G Casino in Coventry. The championship is to be held until August 6th, offering a two-day 8 Game event, a two-day No Limit Hold’em Main Event, as well as a one-day Pot Limit Omaha poker event.
British and Irish poker players will also be given the chance to join a total of four DTD200 events this August. The first DTD200 event which is to kick off as part of the first DTD200 season, is to be held from August 4th to 6th at the Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham. It offers a two-day Main Event, featuring three starting flights and as guaranteed prize pool estimated to £100,000. The rest of the DTD200 events that are to be held in August 2017 are to kick off at the Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham, too. All of them will be held as two-day events, with three starting flights and guaranteed prize of £100,000. They are to be held from August 11th to 13th, from August 18th to 20th and from August 25th to 27th, respectively.
The next poker festival that is to start in the UK this August, is the SummerNova Festival. It is scheduled to kick off on August 8th at the Genting Casino Blackpool and is to be held there until August 13th. The SummerNova Festival is to offer a £35 No Limit Hold’em Hybrid event offering a guaranteed prize pool of £1,500, a £35 No Limit Hold’em Hybrid event with a £2,000 prize pool and a Main Event with three starting flights and a guaranteed prize pool estimated to £10,000.
August will also see another two-day poker event kick off in the UK. From August 10th to 13th, Alea Glasgow is to host the Super Stack Scotland, a poker event offering an affordable £170 buy-in and two exciting game days.
One of the most-loved poker series in the UK and Ireland, the Grosvenor 25/25 Series, has two of its editions scheduled to start in August. First, the Grosvenor Casino in Luton will see the series kick off from August 10th, with the traditional guaranteed prize pool of £25,000. Then, the Grosvenor G Casino in Seafront Brighton will host another edition of the series in the period from August 17th to 20th.
August 2017 will see two of the legs of the Genting Poker Series Mini start. First, Leg 11 is to be held as part of the GPS Season 2017 from August 14th to 20th at the Genting Club Stoke in Stoke on Trent. The game is to offer a £25 Big 10 Satellite event to the Main Event, with the latter being held as a two-day event. Three starting flights and a guaranteed prize pool of £35,000 are to be featured. At the end of the month, the Leg 12 of the Genting Poker Series is to be hosted at the Genting Club Queen Square in Liverpool. The series is to start on August 28th and is to be through on September 3rd. Apart from a £45 Big 10 Satellite to the Main event, it is also to feature an £80 No Limit Hold’em Super Seventy event and of course, the Main Event offering a massive guaranteed prize pool estimated to £100,000.
Also, two One Day Special events are set to start this August. Both of them are to be held at Luton’s Grosvenor Casino, with the first one to be hosted on August 20th, and the other one scheduled for August 28th. Both One Day Special events are to be held as a £100 buy-in No Limit Hold’em events that offer guaranteed prize pools amounting to £8,000.
All poker lovers in the region will be able to join the Unibet UK Poker Tour 2017, which is to be hosted in Alea Nottingham from August 25th to 27th. The Tour is to be held as a two-day event with two starting flights, offering a buy-in of £220, as well as guaranteed prize pool of £40,000.
August will see another significant live poker tournament – the PokerStars Live London Super Series. The latter is scheduled to be held in the period from August 30th to September 3rd as part of the inaugural season of PSLIVE. London’s Hippodrome Casino is to open its doors in order to host a number of events, including a £75 Satellite to Super Series Main Event, three starting flights to the Main Event, as well as the Main Event Final. There will also be a special £110 No Limit Hold’em Womens Event, as well as a £220 No Limit Hold’em Knockout event.
