Online poker operator 888poker revealed details regarding its soon-to-start series of poker tournaments, aptly named ChampionChips. The new tournament series target players from all walks of life as the events’ buy-ins range from $1 to $55 to accommodate different bankroll sizes. The second largest poker network in the world is to host the ChampionChips series from July 23rd to July 30th and offers as much as $150,000 in monetary prizes.
The online poker operator announced the new tournament series will feature a total of 18 different events, with buy-ins as low as $1. In addition to the guaranteed $150,000 prize pool, the first 200 players to top the ChampionChips series would share $3,000 extra between themselves.
The series will commence on July 23rd and three different events are scheduled for the first day. The ChampionChips will kick off with the $10,000 Opening Ceremony 6-Max event where players will be able to buy their way in for as little as $5. The Opening Ceremony 6-Max will be followed by the Half Marathon, a $12 buy-in event which offers $25,000 in guaranteed prizes for the top players.
The opening day of the ChampionChips series is to come to an end with the $1,500 Race Track Turbo tournament where players can buy their way in for as little as $1. High rollers are presented with an opportunity to partake in the $30,000 Weightlifting event on the third day of the tournament series in exchange for a larger buy-in of $55.
All 18 events that are scheduled for this year’s ChampionChips tournament series offer solid prizes, but it is the $50,000 Marathon Main Event which many poker enthusiasts are looking forward to. Players can enter the Main Event in exchange for a reasonable buy-in of $30 only. There are currently satellites with buy-ins of as little as $0.50 for players who cannot afford to pay the $30 Main Event buy-in.
Apart from the $50,000 Marathon Main Event, the last day of the 888poker’s ChampionChips tournament series will see two other events, namely the $2,000 Freestyle Swimming Turbo and the $2,000 Sprint Super Turbo. The buy-ins for these two are $3 and $5, respectively.
Free ChampionChips Qualifier tournaments will be running until July 22, starting at 12:05 pm, 6:35 pm, and 23:35 pm GMT. These three qualifiers give players the chance to compete for 50 seats to the corresponding ChampionChips series tournaments.
The points in the tournament series are awarded on the basis of players’ finishing positions in each of the 18 events that are scheduled as part of this year’s ChampionChips. Top 100 finishers on the leaderboard will be awarded various monetary prizes ranging between $5 and $1,000. Places 101 through 200 on the leaderboard will earn players tournament tickets to the value of $1.
