Malta is to host a couple of key global gaming events this September. The first one, the Malta iGaming Seminar (MIGS17), is set to see its 9th edition kick off, The other event – iGaming Idol – is to be brought back to Malta for its 2nd edition, after celebrating a greatly successful inaugural event in 2016.

The two events are set to be held over two days, starting on September 26th 2017. One of the creators of Skype, Jonas Kjellberg, has been confirmed by the event organisers as the keynote speaker at the main event. He would also be present at the CEO event, which is an invite-only event and is expected to be launched soon.

MIGS17

The eighth edition of the Malta iGaming Seminar managed to attract about 400 delegates in 2016. The MIGS16 was held in two consecutive days, offering a number of caprivating speakers from the iGaming industry.

Some of the most popular speakers who took part in the Seminar were the Malta Gaming Authority’s Executive Chairman Joseph Cuschieri, Igaming Brokerage’s Sue Schneider, GBGC’s Warwick Bartlet and Martin Dreymann of Ebettle. The one who was presented as the keynote speaker of the Malta iGaming Seminar was John Andrews, the Contriburing Editor of The Economist.

Over the years, the event has managed to build reputation as one of the most informative and essential networking events on a global scale. The Seminar has been focused on some of the hottest topics in the industry, including the upcoming consequences of the BREXIT, as well as anti-money laundering practices, the most recent tax changes, new and changing gambling markets, etc.

iGaming Idol

The iGaming Idol, on the other hand, had its inaugural event in 2016, celebrating massive success in the online gaming sector. Its major success is considered to be due to the fact that the iGaming Idol is the first award event which entire focus is set entirely on employee recognition.

The pioneer event of the iGaming Idol attracted more than 250 participants and featured a number of expert judges who awarded innovative approach and professional excellence in a number of fields within the online gambling sector.

In 2017, the competition for the “Idol of the Year” award is to be opened internationally. On the other hand, the awards themselves are planned to be granted to more specific roles within the gaming operations. Some of the categories that will see an award being distibuted are Affiliate Manager, HR Manager, VIP Manager, Recruiter, Casino Product, Sports Product, Poker Product, Live Casino Dealer, Graphic Design/UX/UI, Customer Support, etc.

Malta

Considering the increasing popularity of Malta as an online gambling destination, the country is also becoming a popular destination for various iGaming events, seminars and conferences over the last few years. Over the years, Malta has managed to attract many foreign companies thanks to its lower tax rates and favourable legislative framework. Now it seems that Malta is very likely to become an attractive destination for a number of events bound to both land-based and online gambling, with a great potential for new events to be launched in the upcoming years.
