A few days ago, the Winford Hotel & Casino had their official grand opening ceremony in the Philippines. The property, owned by MJC Investment Corp., had its soft opening at the beginning of 2016, when the ceremonial opening of the grown floor of the project was officially made.
The venue is situated within the San Lazaro Tourism and Business Park in Manila and is the newest gaming and entertainment centre addition of the much bigger renovation process of the area called the “greater Chinatown”.
The district of Binondo has been a major centre of trade and commerce in the Philippines for centuries. The new casino addition is expected to become one of the most popular gaming and entertainment venues for the casino players in Santa Cruz and Balintawak who prefer to stay away from the crowded City of Dreams or Solaire.
The project has been estimated to a total of $160.9 million. The spacious gaming floor comes along with 5 star hotel, with the ground floor casino being currently operated by PAGCOR. The Winford Hotel & Casino owners are granted with 40% of the revenues generated by the casino venue, and in addition to that, two more levels of entertainment space are planned to become available to customers. The additional entertainment space would feature dining and beverage areas, shops, etc.
As mentioned above, along with the gaming venue of Manila Jockey Club (MJC) Investments Corp. there is also a 20-story 5-star hotel, which provides its visitors with a large number of lavish and luxurious guest rooms. The hotel also feature a spa, a ballroom, a fitness area, a swimming pool and a number of other facilities, as well as a multi-level parking space. Currently, there are 128 guest rooms available to the hotel’s visitors.
On the other hand, the casino available to players features two gaming floors packed with slot machines, mass table games and various gambling options, including sports betting. The second floor of the MJC Investment Corp. features an Asia Poker Tour-branded poker room, too. There is also a third floor of the gambling venue, which is especially created for VIP players.
The casino opening was gladly welcomed by the Chairman of the country’s regulatory authority PAGCOR Andrea D. Domingo, who congratulated the owners of the casino, hotel and entertainment venue and highlighted the devotion of PAGCOR to encourage integrated resort casinos to expand further.
As mentioned above, the development of the hotel and casino venue has become part of the latest overhaul in the San Lazaro Tourism and Business Park. With the massive investment made in the project, Manila Jockey Club real estate subsidiary MJC Investments has become one of the main players who joined the high-end development in the area, along with SM San Lazaro, Ayala Land Inc., etc.
