The partypokerLIVE Nottingham £10,300 buy-in High Roller Tournament kicked off on yesterday and is set to return for its second day of play today. The event, which takes place at the Dusk Till Dawn Casino in Nottingham has brought together a total of 100 entries, eight of which were re-entries.
A total of 56 players of these 100 managed to outlast their opponents and survived until the end of Day 1 to get back to the game on April 18th and fight for the £10,300 High Roller’s guaranteed prize of £1 million.
So, at the end of Day 1 it was Niall Farrell from the UK who ended as chip leader with a total of 433,700 chips on his account, followed by the German poker professional Dominik Nitsche. It would be absolutely objective to say that the latter actually had every chance to be on top of the list, but eventually, after a dramatic competition, he remained at the second position holding a total of 391,450 in chips.
Farrell is currently one of the most successful Scottish poker players, with best live cash of $588,592 and all-time live winnings estimated to $3,358,272. Until the present moment, he has entered in a number of tournaments and events since the beginning of 2017, including the 888Live Main Event at the 888Live King’s Festival, Rozvadov, the WPT Main Event at the WPT Rolling Thunder, the $300 Jason Taylor/WPT Foundation Charity Event and the $2,200 NLHE Eight Handed at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.
A large number of poker pros entered the High Roller event, but many were not lucky enough to proceed to Day 2, such as Adrian Mateos, Stepehn Chidwick, Steven Warburton, David Peters, Rainer Kempe, etc.
The Dusk Till Dawn Casino in Nottingham saw a number of partypoker ambassadors who managed to get a strong finish above or near the 160,000 closing chip average set by Niall Farrell. For the time being, there are three partypoker ambassadors who still got their eyes on the massive guaranteed prize, including Joao Simao with 224,400, Sam Trickett who holds 200,000 in chips as well as Roberto Romanello with 119,700.
As said above, Miall Farrell currently holds the chip lead with 433,700 in chips, followed by Dominik Nitsche with 391,450. At the end of Day 1 of the partypokerLIVE Nottingham £10,300 High Roller, the UK player Ben Heath is third in chips, holding a total of 334,450. Jason Wheeler from the US is fourth with 307,025 in chips, followed by the Hungarian Laszlo Bujtas, who has 283,350 in chips.
The five other players who have ranked in the top ten after Day 1 of the High Roller event are: Bartlomiej Machon on rank 6, Anthon Kennedy on the seventh position, as well as Javier Gomes at the eight place with 257,000 in chips. Jan-Eric Schwippert remained eight, followed by Adam Maxwell who finished Day 1 with 250,700 in chips.
