Yggdrasil Gaming Sets Foot in Italy under GVC Partnership Agreement

Yggdrasil Gaming, one of the fastest-growing online and mobile gaming solutions providers on a global scale, has joined forces with GVC Holdings in a partnership agreement, which would provide it with the chance to see its video slots content go live in the Italian regulated market. In January 2017, the company revealed its intentions to set foot in Italy, so the collaboration deal with the brands of GVC Holdings which currently operate there – bwin.it and Gioco Digitale – would provide it with the desired chance to step into a new market and expand its reach to local customers.

The Chief Executive Officer of Yggdrasil Gaming Fredrik Elmqvist commented on the agreement, saying it was a great opportunity for the company to join forces with an operator as big and as respected as GVC Holdings. He shared that as part of the deal, Yggdrasil would have its premium gaming platform offered to GVC’s Italy-operating brands, with a total of eleven certified games initially offered and the intention of increasing their number with the progression of the partnership.

According to Mr. Elmqvist, Yggdrasil had managed to expand its reach in Europe in 2016. He added that the deal with GVC Holdings came as the latest one in a series of big partnership agreements and proof of the great progress that was made by the developer.

The online and mobile gaming operator shared that it has partnered with the Isle of Man-headquartered online gambling company GVC Holdings to accomplish its plans of entering the Italian market. Under the terms of the agreement, the company will see its video slots integrated directly into GVC’s bwin.it and Gioco Digitale websites.

Thanks to the partnership deal, the video slots portfolio of Yggdrasil, containing high-quality HTML5 games. The agreement would also enable the company to set foot in Italy, taking advantage of the new market by expanding its customers base in the region. As revealed by the developer itself, at first only eleven games will be certified under the regulatory requirements of the Italian authorities. The content is planned to go live over the second quarter of 2017.

GVC Holdings’ bwin.it website is to launch a number of titles, including Vikings GO Wild, Nirvana and Dark Joker Rises. The video slots offering of Yggdrasil is to be integrated by using the iSENSE 2.0 HTML5 framework, which would guarantee the games’ launches on both desktop and mobile devices at the same time. What is more, the Italy-operating brands of the online gaming company will be able to access Yggdrasil’s promotional tool BOOST and the industry-first social sharing tool BRAG.

The deal was confirmed by the Chief Product Officer of GVC Holdings Liron Snir, who explained that his company kept its focus on providing their customers with the largest possible number of qualitative games. He also described the titles provided by Yggdrasil as a great solution for GVC and said it was a great step forward for the company to be able to integrate Yggdrasil’s content into the Italian market. He also praised the brand’s promotional tools as a fantastic innovation, especially the BRAG feature.
