The leading gaming software supplier BetConstruct, which has recently became a major partner for the 2017 edition of the Global Gaming Awards, has revealed that it is to join the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). The latter is a charitable organisation which is aimed at the cooperation and collaboration with various problems and services that help people who suffer from problem gambling behaviour and their families.
The Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling Keith Whyte welcomed BetConstruct as a member of the organisation and explained he greatly appreciated the support that company of the charity’s programs. Mr. Whyte also added he was impatient to start working in collaboration with the UK-based company on various issues related to responsible gaming and protection.
The National Council on Problem Gambling was established in 1972. Since the very beginning, the NCPG’s works has been based on two major principles, both of which are still valid today. The first principle is that the charitable organisation would act as an advocate for problem gamblers and their families, and the other one is that the Council would keep a neutral position when it comes to gambling legalisation.
The National Council on Problem Gambling has an independent board that is not connected to organised gambling and its funding is primarily generated from its membership program. Since it is not dependant on industry funding, the organisation has a neutral position when it comes to public policy issues. In this sense, the NCPG is neither for, nor against legalised gambling, as it is aimed at helping gamblers who are trying to deal with addictions and their families.
Thanks to its decision to join the National Council of Problem Gambling, UK-based BetConstruct has now entered various initiatives organised by casino and state lottery operators, as well as horse racing entities and lottery vendors as a Silver Member of the advocacy group’s initiatives.
The Chief Executive Officer of the UK-based gaming software developer Vahe Boloulian commented on the news, saying that everyone involved in the gambling industry should have supported the efforts of the organisations and charities that are focused on keeping players safe. He expressed his gratitude to the National Council of Problem Gambling, saying he greatly valued the work done by the organisation in the area of problem gambling and reassured that BeConstruct was to back the NCPG.
