The Member of UK Parliament Philip Davies, who also currently occupies the position of the All Party Betting and Gaming Group’s Chairman, is to participate in a public speaking at the Annual Regulations’ Lunch. The latter is part of this year’s agenda of the World Regulatory Assembly at the ICE Totally Gaming conference which is to take place at the London’s ExCel in February 2017.
Philip Davies MP said that currently, the industry was constantly improving thanks to the large number of innovations that took place in the business. He explained that he would like to see the gaming sector in the UK as the first one to make sure it offered not only a competitive advantage, but also excellent strategy turned to responsibility and efficiency as primary goals.
According to Mr. Davies, Great Britain had become an excellent example of qualitative regulation which left its mark on a large number of international markets. The Chairman of the UK Parliament’s All Party Betting & Gaming Group also described himself as a passionate supported of the current regulatory framework of the UK.
Mr. Davies is to primarily focus at matters related to better customer protection, and more specifically on the use of technology and data inputs. The Annual Regulations’ Lunch is scheduled for the second day of the ICE Totally Gaming conference. Apart from making the address, the Member of Parliament is to also visit the exhibition floor in order to see for himself how technology and data inputs are combined and used in practice when it comes to customer protection.
As a matter of fact, the ICE Totally Gaming show’s organisers have already revealed that they are to make responsible gambling and international gambling policy mattes a centrepiece of this year’s conference. The annual gaming show is expected to be visited by a record number of people and would also welcome international law-makers to share good practices and experience on the matter.
The Head of Content division at the ICE Totally Gaming conference’s organisers Clarion Events Ewa Bakun commented on the discussions raised by Mr. Davies and said that the thorough review of UK’s gambling regulations could turn out as an excellent chance to investigate its effectiveness in the British gambling market. Ms. Bakun also explained that the conditions of constantly changing and improving market could give the competent authorities the chance to spot the problem addictive behaviour earlier and said she found such discussions very important.
