Shortly after the UK and Irish poker communities bid farewell to the UKIPT as well as to all other PokerStars-organised live poker festivals around the world, the time has almost come for the PokerStars Championship Bahamas. The much-anticipated successor to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will take place on 6-14 January 2017 at Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas.
The host venue is well-known to PCA frequenters as, over the years, it has welcomed players from all around the world for the popular poker festival. Just like its predecessor, the PokerStars Championship Bahamas will be one of the first major poker events to take place next year.
Over the festival’s nine-day span, players will be able to take part in a number of tournaments, cash games, and other poker-related activities. Several live tournaments on the schedule strike as ones worth paying a bit more attention to.
The PokerStars Open event is the first major one to kick off as part of the PokerStars Championship Bahamas. The tournament will feature a $220 buy-in fee. It is set to commence on 10 January and will be played over three days.
The $440 PokerStars Cup is another event to have been listed by organisers as an important one. It is scheduled for 12-14 January. The PokerStars National Championship with a $2,200 buy-in will be among the festival’s opening tournaments as it is set to kick off on 7 January. It will run through 9 January.
The PokerStars Championship $5,000 Main Event, or undoubtedly the most highly anticipated tournament on the schedule, will run from 8 January through 14 January, featuring multiple starting flights and opportunities for players to join its field.
High rollers from all around the world will be pleased to be informed that they will be offered several excellent opportunities for higher buy-in action throughout the Bahamas championship. The PokerStars Championship $100,000 Super High Roller, a tournament that had been an indispensable part of the PCA schedule over the years, is slated for 6-8 January. The event traditionally attracts some of poker’s biggest and its 2017 edition, although under a different name, will likely not be an exception to this rule.
The PokerStars Championship $25,750 High Roller will be another higher buy-in event to be included in the Bahamas festival’s schedule. That one will take place from 12-14 January.
Overall, the PokerStars Championship Bahamas will include over 90 different tournaments. Players must be at least 18 years old, in order to be allowed to join the poker action at Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in early January.
