UK professional poker player William Kassouf emerged victorious from the last ever European Poker Tour (EPT) High Roller tournament, taking home the event’s trophy, while Patrick Serda won the cash prize of the tournament.
So, the €10,300 Buy-in High Roller was the last one ever for the European Poker Tour. The event, which took place at the Hilton Hotel in Prague, broke some records after it managed to gather a total of 407 entries. William Kassouf was proclaimed as the event’s winner after a deal with his last standing opponent – Patric Serda, who got the first prize cash estimated to €719,000.
After the last table of nine was formed, all of them were guaranteed to get at least €75,400. The last remaining players got eliminated one by one until only two of them remained at the final table of the High Roller tournament.
At the time when Patric Serda and William Kassouf were the last two standing opponents at the event’s final table, it was Serda who got a four-to-one chip lead over Kassouf. However, the two of them decided to make a deal that ended up with Serda getting the first-place cash prize. On the other hand, William Kassouf was proclaimed that High Roller’s champion, getting the tournament’s trophy and a smaller cash portion of €532,500. He became the last ever EPT High Roller champion.
In case that the two players had not made the deal, the payout of the runner-up would have been €485,600, while the event’s winner would have been granted with a total of €765,900.
With William Kassouf from the UK occupying the first place with a cash prize of €532,500, the Canadian Patrick Serda got second, taking home the largest cash portion of the tournament’s guaranteed prize pool. Tue Ullerup Hansen from Denmark got third, getting a consolation prize of €351,000.
The fourth place of the tournament was occupied by the Bulgarian poker player Viliyan Petleshkov, followed by Paul Leckey from the UK. The Polish Grzegorz Wyraz got sixth, while Matas Cimbolas from Lithuania occupied the seventh position in the ranking. The last, eighth place, was taken by Jens Lakemeier from Germany.
