The latest update of the Global Poker Index (GPI) brought some surprise when it saw Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo at the fourth position of the ranking. This is as high as the 31-year-old poker player has ever climbed in the GPI ranking and comes as a proof that the American could bring great surprises to the poker world in the upcoming months and years.
Bonomo, whose all-time winnings amount to $12,847,510, has had a fantastic year so far. The player’s best live cash has been estimated to $2,165,217.
Justin Bonomo has taken part in a number of poker tournaments and competitions. The most recent event Bonomo played in was the $10,400 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Five Diamond Main Event at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Five Diamond World Poker Classic. It took place at Bellagio from December 5th to 10th, and Bonomo managed to rank at the fifth position, scooping a prize of $345,272.
At the beginning of November, the player also participated in the HK$500,000 No Limit Hold’en Super High Roller tournament at this year’s edition of the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP). Bonomo ranked as a runner-up, taking home a massive cash portion of HK$5,595,000.
A few months earlier, the American entered at the Bellagio Cup XII competition. In addition, in June and July he took part in six events within the 47th edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP). He performed more than great, finishing as a runner-up in two events, and occupying the third place in another two. The overall winnings generated by Bonomo over 2016 WSOP at the Rio Hotel and Casino amounted to $1,363,044.
In June, Bonomo also entered the $50,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em event at the Super High Roller 8 tournament which took place at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The player ranked second in place, winning a total of $558,782.
The three events at the EPT-12-FPS-6-Grand Final also brought Bonomo success. He emerged as a winner from the €2,200 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em #47 event, scooping a guaranteed prize portion estimated to €10,600. The player also ranked first at the Aria High Roller 25 tournament, getting a prize of $383,040. At the very beginning of 2016 – on January 7th, he took part in this year’s edition of the PCA, occupying the runner-up position.
