William Hill Signs Long-Term Media Rights Deal with TRP

One of the leading UK bookmakers – William Hill – officially revealed that it has reached an exclusive long-term media rights agreement with The Racing Partnership (TRP). The deal will come into effect on January 1st, 2017.

Philip Bowcock who occupies the position of an Interim Chief Executive Officer of William Hill commented on the agreement, saying that as a result of the deal, the bookmaker’s customers would be able to enjoy the entire range of horse racing coverage offered not only in the UK but also worldwide.

According to Mr. Bowcock, the deal with TRP came as a natural evolvement of the commercial partnership between sports betting companies and racing operators. He also reminded that was also the first time when William Hill had received direct media rights when it comes to racecources. Mr. Bowcock also shared that he would be gladly awaiting for the company to start working in collaboration with TRP in order to sure that the bookmaker’s customers would be given the chance to reach the best racing service in the market.

Under the terms of the agreement the coverage of TRP is to become available to William Hill’s customers across a total of 2,371 betting outlets of the bookmaker’s brand on the territory of the UK.

This is the first time ever William Hill has got media rights directly from racecourses without using a third party as a intermediary. Thanks to the media rights deal, the UK bookmaker is to now get betting shop media rights from TRP. Currently, the latter represents 15 racecourses owned by Arena Racing Company as well as 7 independent racecourses.

The media rights agreement was also confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of Arena Racing Company Martin Cruddace. He shared that the entire team of ARC was glad with the fact they have become part of such an important deal with William Hill. Mr. Cruddace explained that the company he represented would like to make the most efficient agreement for all parties and shared that ARC’s team believed the deal with the UK bookmaker was exactly they would like to have.

He said that the Arena Racing Company was focused on developing, improving and delivering the best racing product to clients in collaboration with William Hill.
