The UK-based bookmaker Betfred has been officially announced by the Super League as its new Title Sponsor. The two parties inked an exclusive sponsorship agreement for a period of three years. Betfred is to operate as the official title partner of the Super League from 2017 to 2019.
The Chief Executive Officer of Betfred Fred Done commented on the partnership deal, saying that becoming the title sponsor of the Super League has the best way to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the company. He also called the agreement a high-profile one and shared his belief the British bookmaker was “a perfect fit” for the Super League.
As mentioned above, the deal is to begin in 2017. The agreement will see Betfred as an official sponsor of the Super League and is expected to complement the rest of the UK company’s partnership agreements. Currently, Betfred is the major sponsor of the UK horse racing as well as a large sponsor of the Betfred World Snooker Championships. Thanks to its latest sponsorship deal, the British bookmaker is to become the major partner of the Rugby League‘s elite club.
Under the terms of the agreement, the UK-based company will be granted with naming rights to the Betfred Super League. In addition, its brand is to be displayed at various grounds in the country. What is more, Betfred is also expected to draw some benefits from being featured on various media channels such as the Super League partners Sky Sports, BBC TV, talkSPORT, BBC 5Live Radio, etc.
Currently, Betfred is considered as one of the major bookmakers on the territory of the UK. It was established in 1967 and has almost half a century of experience behind its back, which has turned the company in the biggest independent bookmaker on a global scale. The bookmaker also emerged on top of the list of the North West’s Top 200 Businesses for a fourth consecutive year, which makes it a serious player in the global gaming and betting market, and hence, a desired partner and sponsor.
Commenting on the sponsorship agreement, the Chief Executive Officer of the Super League Nigel Wood said that Betfred had been a desired partner to the Super League thanks to its great reputation and large customers base. He also described the bookmaker as the latest major company that has chosen to work in collaboration with the Rugby League.
Mr. Wood revealed that he had met with Betfred’s owner and founder Fred Done and shared his belief that the sponsorship agreement would be beneficial for both companies.
